From September 1st to 7th, 20 students from the four Universities of the DECEL project had the opportunity of participating in the DECEL C3 event, co-financed by the European Union and organized by the University of Ferrara. This event promoted international collaboration among students from the University of Ferrara, the University of Tours, the University of Porto, and the University of Alcalá.
Together, students developed innovative applications by implementing Digital Electronic Systems on reconfigurable hardware platforms, highlighting the use of the Red Pitaya SoC board, the Basys 3 FPGA device, and the PRIO Wi-Fi module.
In the framework of a project, students developed a remote level meter capable of measuring the inclination of a surface and determining its relative position concerning its ideal stability posture. The level meter is monitored through auditory module which emits alerts for risky positions and visual module that displays the angle of inclination. The course videos and slides, the documentation of the project and many tutorials and starting files, are hosted in a moodle dedicated course (DECEL C3).
Students had also the opportunity to listen to experts such as: Valentina Sisini, a PhD student at the University of Ferrara;
Enrico Calore from the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN); and a representative from Selcom, a company specializing in electronic system manufacturing services.
Finally, students and professors really enjoyed the experience offered during this special Erasmus+ week.
